Example theme was: Misogyny in Islamic culture. (don’t use this)   Your proposal need to have a title, thesis-statement, outline of your paper and the peer-reviewed sources formated following Chicago Manual of Style. Please make sure you review the research paper proposal guidelines, research paper rubrics and the sample Chicago Manual of Style for formatting your bibliography and footnotes.   The major assignment for this course is a research project analyzing aspects of any one religion or religious theme/issue in depth. t. This paper represents the student’s attempt to discover and refine their view of religion by a case study of one particular religion or theme/issue. The paper is to be well researched, coherent, and well written. The grading criteria will particularly focus on the sources located, clarity, creativity, and depth of presentation in your interpretation of the religion or religious issue. A student who writes a paper with an abundance of grammar or usage mistakes will find the grade on the paper significantly reduced. Please proofread your work. The paper should be double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font and 1 inch margins. All citations must accord to Chicago Manual of Style. It is imperative that each student understands how to properly cite sources. Refer to the hyperlink above for a quick reference to the CMS style. A Research Proposal is to be submitted with a title, thesis-statement, outline [course of argument] and an initial bibliography of at least five major academic/scholarly sources other than Internet sources and class texts, from which you expect to draw information.
