Beginning with the time Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses (Points for Discussion) on the door of the church in Wittenburg on Oct. 31, 1517, to (most scholars agree) the 1648 Treaty of Westphalia, which ended the Thirty Years’ War, this became known as the “Reformation.” Using researched sources, explain the religious, political, and historical perspective from the literature and your research of what occurred during this period and how it changed the world, for the better. List any restructurings, upheavals, wars, or other means that reform was brought to each of these three aspects of the final chapters of the Middle Ages and the early beginnings (about 1660) of the Enlightenment Era. What happened to the power of the HRC church and how did King Henry VIII treat this reformation revolution? What about the arts — music, literature, and other artistic creations and how did this new reformed way of thinking encourage freedom of thought, expressions of democracy, and scientific and other discovery-type endeavors?
