Description
This course analyzes how historical events and institutions influence the economic development patterns that we observe today. In your view, to what extent does a country’s distant past “dictate” its potential for future economic development? Put differently, does a country’s history predict its future destiny, or is economic change still possible? To support your argument, please draw on the course’s core readings, scholarly articles, and news articles, and use at least two examples from them. Please write this essay in favor of the argument that a countries history does not dictate its potential for future economic growth. However if you feel you could truly make the opposite a better argument, feel free to do so. I will attach some of the courses core readings, scholarly articles, and news articles that you must pick at least two citations from. I will also include the rubric. Thank you.
