Lab 4

Description

For this lab you are going to learn how to conduct a content analysis of a few songs. Below is a word file of the song lyrics.  Look through the song lyrics and look for themes in each song. Then look to see in there are common themes among all the songs. What commonalities are you seeing in the songs? Once you identify two themes, record them on the Lab 4 work sheet.  Then go through the songs again and highlight words/phrases that fit with the two themes you picked.   Lab 4 – songs.docx Lab 4 – Content Analysis – identify themes.docx   Below is an article which is a content analysis.  This content analysis identified themes from hip-hop songs.  It may be worth reading through the methodology and results to get a better understanding of how to conduct a content analysis.  Steinmetz Henderson 2012- Hip-Hop.pdf
