Gotham County  Due to the recent assassination of Sheriff Buford Pusser, Gotham County Sheriff, caused by the  escape of several criminals from the Arkham Asylum you have been appointed as the new  Sheriff. Commissioner Gordon is working on rounding up the missing criminals. You must now  prepare a budget for the Gotham County Sheriff’s Office.   Gotham County is a county of approximately 125,000 residents which comprises approximately  455 square miles  Personnel  You must determine how the personnel you will need to staff the Sheriff’s Office and serve the  residents of Gotham County, including what division of personnel, supervisory ranks and/or  promotions, and any additional personnel and what function they will be serving in.   Also don’t forget a relief factor.  Currently this is the staffing of the Gotham County Sheriff’s Office:  Administration Division   1 Sheriff  1 Undersheriff  1 Sworn Professional Standards Sergeant   5 Various civilian administrative professionals  1 Evidence Custodian – Civilian   Road Patrol Division – (3) three (8) eight hour shifts – Each shift has (7) seven deputies and a  supervisor. There are also (5) five schools and each has an SRO deputy assigned to the school.   Civil Process Division   5 Sworn  3 Civilian Clerks – who handle; the processing of Concealed Carry Permits, entry of Adult  Abuse Orders and Civil Papers, schedule and process evictions   Corrections Division – (3) three (8) eight hour shifts  1 Lieutenant of Custody  1 Lieutenant of Special Services; PREA, Due Process, Policy, Training, and Medical  6 Sworn Jail Sergeants – 2 per shift   4 Sworn Deputies – Booking Intake   2 Sworn Inmate Transportation   28 Detention Officers – Non-Sworn – work the housing floor with the inmates  Court Security Division   There are 8 Courts – also do not forget about the court security component at entrance of the  Courthouse   Investigation Division   4 Persons Crime Investigators  3 Property Crime Investigators  2 Family Crime Investigators   2 Cyber Crime Investigator  1 Sex Offender Investigator   8 Sworn Drug Investigators – 3 also have federal task force credentials (2 ATF, 1 DEA)  4 Violent crime/career criminal Investigators – all have federal FBI task force credentials   2 Civilian Administrative Staff  1 Evidence Custodian   Overtime The amount must be determined and justified in the budget   Salary  1.
