Use of L1 in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms in Saudi Arabia

Please review the document attached (‘Literature Review Guidelines’) – This document should help you restructure your paper. In the current version, you include a ‘Methodology’ section which is not appropriate for a Literature Review. You also have a considerable amount of repetition between chapters 1 and 2. My recommendation is to provide an Introduction with your Problem Statement and then move into the Synthesis of Current Research. Make sure to use appropriate headings/subheadings to present the synthesis. After that, you can present your Conclusions and Implications.  You propose three research questions, but your content doesn’t all fit within those questions. I suggest you either rephrase one (or more) of your questions so it matches or that you take a look at your content and make some adjustments to the questions. The section about the different methods (e.g., grammar-translation) and the use of L1 in these methods is interesting, but I believe this is more of background information. You may want to include this in your Introduction as you present your topic, describing how there are various teaching methods employed with the L1 used more or less often, depending on the characteristics of the method. You can then present the literature review where you synthesize what you found across the studies, making sure to answer your research questions. I strongly encourage you to explore resources and services provided by the writing center as you will need to make significant changes to your paper over the next two weeks. There are several instances where your paper does not flow well and there are a number of grammatical issues (e.g., word choice, verb tense, choppy paragraphs, unclear statements, etc.).
