Description
While it’s easy to imagine that the best, most experienced writers sit down and crank out perfect writing the first time around, the truth is that the more experienced writers become, the more complicated their writing process grows. READ AND ANNOTATE To begin thinking about writing not as a one-time activity but as a process, open Critical Reading, Critical Writing: A Handbook to Understanding College Composition and read Chapter 4, “The Writing Process.” (Links to an external site.) As should be second nature by now, annotate the text using the methods we learned earlier this semester, and be prepared to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the material through the listed assignments. WRITE Write several detailed paragraphs reflecting on the writing processes you’d previously employed and comparing/contrasting them to the processes described in the chapter. As you do so, give specific examples from your own experience, and be sure to refer to specific terms, concepts, and passages from the text. GRADING Your submission will be graded on a 10-point scale according to how well it responds to the prompt above.
