Week One Instructions
Respond to two classmates AND professor
TOPIC
What are the emerging topics and issues in your field of study? Identify at least two professional associations to which practitioners in your field might belong, and review the association websites. For example, depending on your degree program and specialization, you might review the website of one or more of the professional associations on the following list: Sample Professional Organizations. Don’t limit yourself to the organizations on this list. Find two professional associations that pertain specifically to your field of study—on the list or of your own discovery—and write your assignment based on information from those two associations. Search these websites for information about the work of professionals in your field and for current topics or emerging issues confronting practitioners. For example, you might:
Guided Response: Answer any questions your instructor has about your initial post, and respond to at least two of your classmates’ initial posts. Each of your responses to your classmates should be at least 100 words in length. Examine the topics or emerging trends identified by each classmate and your classmate’s justification of their importance. Provide feedback to your classmate on the strengths and weaknesses of the topics or emerging issues he or she identified and the justification for the importance of the topics or emerging issues. Make any suggestions that you feel your classmate may not have considered. You should not focus on whether you agree or disagree with the topics or your classmate’s justification of the topics but, rather, focus on your classmate’s process of choosing the topics or emerging issues.
Respond to professor Question:
Do you feel that you are becoming more immersed in Literature? It has been my experience that not only is this critical in establishing gaps but helps in identifying seminal research. Thanks for sharing.

Identifying solutions in the development of community understanding of climate change is today a visible effort of awareness. This is a social problem that impacts the community, meaning the difference is on the socioeconomic disparity, understanding the behaviors affecting the environment, and developing interventions (Ntontis et al., 2019). Recognizing the human behavior and the response to make climate policy is the opportunity for environmentalists to increase knowledge with literacy to improve to make a change, also to our humanity (Lieberman, 2015). For decades, the warning signs have been there for global warning. The scientific discovery, humanity’s social system of disbelievers, has created a more significant impact on inequities. The concern is the real reasoning between individual beliefs and scientific knowledge.

What are the emerging topics and issues in your field of study? Identify at least two professional associations to which practitioners in your field might belong, and review the association websites.
Two emerging topics in my field of study; Education in the state of Texas; Low Teacher pay and Public Funding.
February 2019 in the state of Texas teacher pay was at 17% and Public funding was also at 17%. In 2017-2018 the average teacher pay in the state of Texas was $53,000 a year and in 2020, the teacher pay is still about $53,000. In the area that I live in the average first year teacher pay is only $48,000-$50,000 a year. Most teachers 1) are married and have that extra income or 2) have a second job to support their family. Some areas are lower and some areas are higher on the pay scale.
Funding for public schools is absolutely necessary. There have been ones that say money is not a factor in public schools. Funding purchases classroom materials for students as well as improvements for the classroom. Funding also helps when there are families with little or no income that attends that school. The area that I work and reside in is what is called a Title-1 school. So our districts around depend on the public funding to help feed our students while they are at school.
“Texas spent $65 billion in fiscal year 2016 for primary and secondary public education (Texas Education Agency 2018). About half of this expenditure was funded with local resources, and the rest was primarily funded through the state government (federal funding accounts for less than 10 percent.” (Stipica Mudrazija and Kristin Blagg with Victoria Lee, Cary Lou, and Victoria Rosenboom January 2019)
Public funding has been cut in the last few years as well as teacher pay. Teachers also spend quite a bit of money out of pocket for their classroom and supplies for their students. Without public funding teachers cannot get paid and schools would desecrate. They both go hand-in-hand and are both an important part of education.
