Overview

HRCI’s Exam Content Outlines detail the responsibilities, knowledge, and current practices for HR professionals, and for this assignment, you will focus on the areas of Recruitment and Selection for aPHR candidates and Workforce Planning and Employment for PHR/SPHR candidates in a PowerPoint presentation to workplace management.

The aPHR content area of Recruitment and Selection represents 15 percent of the certification examination. The Workforce Planning and Employment represents 24 percent of the certification examination for PHR candidates and 17 percent for SPHR candidates. The reason for these varying percentages is that associate and generalist level HRM professionals operate in a transactional and compliance-based environment. However, HR management operates in an organizational context that demands their involvement, knowledge, and expertise of organization strategic operations and their support of its principal goals and objectives.

Preparation

For aPHR examination candidates:

· Review the content area, Recruitment and Selection, and choose four areas where you feel your knowledge could be enhanced.

For PHR and SPHR examination candidates:

· Review the content area, Workforce Planning and Employment, and choose four areas you feel your knowledge could be enhanced.

Assignment Description

Include the following in a PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes, intended for an organizational management audience:

· Analyze content areas to strengthen personal knowledge. Select four areas for further study.

· Synthesize elements of each content area. Use both course materials and HRCP’s learning platform.

· Analyze the impact and value the HRM professional contributes to each content area within an organization. Consider how this might change for different roles, including a HR generalist, HR manager, or HR director level.

Submission Requirements

· Written communication: Written communication is thoughtful and free of errors that detract from the overall message.

· Format: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style and format.

· References: Resources are useful and valuable for this assignment. There is no minimum number of resources.

· Length: 8–12 PowerPoint slides with speaker notes, including a separate slide for references.

· Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
