Please read the article titled “Indian Removal. PDF” attached and answer the following questions in the essay.   Essay questions:  – What type of man was Andrew Jackson portrayed in your high school textbook or prior knowledge?   – What type of man is A. Jackson portrayed as in H. Zinn’s article?   – If American settlers lived peacefully with Native Indians (Creeks, Seminoles, Cherokees, etc.) what made a sudden difference in how Indians were treated in the early 1800s?  – Mobile Bay is mentioned in the article, what type of place was it described as? – In 1838, Pres. Van Buren spoke to US Congress; “it affords sincere pleasure to apprise the Congress of the entire removal of the Cherokee Nation of Indians to their new homes west of the Mississippi.   – The measure authorized by Congress at its last session have had the happiest effects.”  What is your reaction to this statement?
