English 103 Final Exam: Batman: White Knight Minimum: Five (5) Pages 100 Points Due: August 2nd @ 11:59 p.m. Sean Murphy’s Batman: White Knight flips the story we have been told our entire lives regarding good and evil, the Joker and Batman, and all of the mayhem that occurs in Gotham City. Instead of Batman and the GCPD mobilizing against the Joker, we have a city divided, roles reversed, and long accepted and unassailable truths being questioned. Write an essay of no less than five (5) pages that addresses the arguments made in the book against what we have typically accepted for 80 years, namely, Batman’s vigilantism. Are the arguments made by Jack Napier sound? What logical fallacies can you identify throughout the book? Should a “reformed’ Joker be trusted, and are his opinions valid given his history and state of mind? How much, if any, of the chaos in Gotham is Batman responsible for? Is there a satisfying resolution? What comments are being made here regarding social justice, What, if anything, have the characters in the book, and the reader, learned? Give your essay an interesting and engaging title Write this essay in third person POV only Include an effective thesis statement that clearly states your POV and attitude towards the subject Identify at least three (3) logical fallacies, though you may identify more Cite at least five (5) times from throughout the ENTIRE book, though you may cite more.
