Description
• This is NOT an argument-driven research paper; I’m not looking for you to set out a claim. Instead, you’re writing a research/investigative piece about something you want to know more about. The point is to find answers to your research question. • Absolutely NO biographies. • Choose your topic carefully so you have plenty to research and write about. If you need help, ask. • I will expect to see somewhere between 4 and 8 sources. Use the UC LIBRARY. You can use it electronically; there’s a link in the Home Module, and I have included a quick video guide for how to use the library’s online search tools. Look for articles and essays. No googled/web-searched sources will be allowed unless you explicitly ask me before you turn in the paper if the source is acceptable. Do not use your local public library. Again, use the UC LIBRARY. Papers that do not use library sources will be returned unread. • MLA-style citations are REQUIRED. Any draft missing in-text citations or a Final Works Cited page will not be read. • I should not need to say this, but do not plagiarize your paper. Plagiarism will result in a F on this assignment. Length: 2000 words, double-spaced, 12 point font.
