Assume you are a warden of a minimum-security prison or an administrator of a jail or community-based correctional work-center (halfway house). From Looman & Carl’s book, you will choose one of the proposals listed on pages 199-204 and formulate the following components of a strategic plan for implementing this proposal (a true strategic plan contains more components as you see in Hurley & Hanley’s Appendix A; time does not permit such an endeavor): Brief description of your simulated agency Assessment information indicating your change initiative is needed Vision & Mission of the change initiative Three evidence-based outcome strategies; 1 each for education (knowledge), a skill and an attitude Offender/client selection and/or participation Staffing Communication Strategies Outcome Monitoring (Information Management System) While normally you are not permitted to use information from other papers that you have previously written, the unit projects were intended to be preliminary projects for the CST project. You can, and should, choose aspects of your unit comprehensive assignments to create your strategic plan. However, do not just cut-n-paste; integrate information the same way you would for another author’s work. When you re-use cited work from your unit projects for the CST project (which you should), be sure to cite this work in the CST project. As this paper is a simulated strategic plan, some of your information will be theorized versus information that can be supported by other scholars. When you are simulating information (theorizing), begin with a statement such as “My assumption(s) is (are) …”, or “Theoretically, …” or “In my career experiences, I believe the agency …” Consider the following APA style format: Title: Change Initiative Plan or name of the program initiative you are proposing. First 3 paragraphs, introduce your initiative Briefly describe the simulated agency you are the administrator for Identify the proposal you have chosen from Looman/Carl’s book and briefly describe your change initiative concept (program). Briefly describe the assessment information indicating the initiative is necessary. Left-margin subheading title (bold) with1-3 paragraphs following; important to be succinct in your discussion of each subheading Vision Mission Outcome Strategies Offender Selection and Participation Staffing Communication Strategies Outcome Monitoring Strategic Plan should be about 2500 words (10 pages).
