Description
The purpose of this Pre-test Essay is to determine how well you can write an academic essay. Your essay should include (a) an introduction that includes a position statement (thesis), (b) supporting sentences (c) at least three body paragraphs, and (d) a conclusion. Below are five topics. (1) Read each topic carefully and choose the one which you feel you can do your best writing. (2) Start planning your paper after you chose your essay topic. (3) The organization of your essay is important. An advanced level essay will have a central idea that is directly related to the topic; have a clear organizational plan; develop points with evidence and support; is coherent and logical; and free of frequent errors in grammar, mechanics, word choice, and sentence structure. Below are five topics. Choose only one to write about. Read the topic carefully so that you understand exactly what it mean.
