Flexible Core Learning Outcomes: Evaluate evidence and arguments critically or analytically. Produce well-reasoned written or oral arguments using evidence to support conclusions. Using the supplementary videos and the assigned chapters, please try to do the following using your own words (NO points will be awarded for plagiarism): Describe or explain the evolution of humankind. Evaluate this perspective. How does it contrast with other perspectives about evolution? Please provide a personal reaction to this unit. What did you find interesting or new? Did any of the material conflict with your own belief system? If you went to high school in another country, was this part of the curriculum? If you went to high school in the U.S., to what extend was evolution taught? Please be extra sensitive to the thoughts and feelings of other students. Teaching evolution has been a hotly contested issue in the United States and even resulted in a Supreme Court case often referred to as “The Monkey Case” or the Scopes Trial in 1925.
