On the PPT page26: Freedom on the Move is a project historians are undertaking to create a crowdsourced, comprehensive database of all runaway slave advertisements that will eventually include all of North America. For Lecture Participation: Spend time going through 10 runaway ads on their twitter feed (this will take about least 30 minutes to look at 10 ads). From the ads that you read ANSWER these questions: How are ads describing enslaved people? Why are enslaved people described in these ways? Who is writing these ads, and who is reading them?
