Description
After rewatching The Story of Stuff , I realized that Annie Leonard starts off the video with a pretty bold claim. She claims that our materials economy is a “system in crisis”. She then proceeds to list several reasons why it’s in crisis. What better way to start off our discussions than by tackling this question! In addition, you’ve also watched Planet Money Makes a T-Shirt, which directly tracks this system for a single product. So here’s the question: After watching Planet Money Makes a T-Shirt, and Story of Stuff and any other research you’ve done on your own, how would you evaluate Annie Leonard’s claim. Is our materials economy and “system in crisis”? Do you Conditionally Accept, Reject or think there’s Insufficient Evidence (see the Collecting and Evaluating Evidence Assignment if you’re wondering why I’m using these terms) to support this claim. Remember that in your answer you need to include AT LEAST ONE citation (it can just be a link to a website) and you must respond to AT LEAST TWO other posts.
