Description
What is needed is an abstract (250-300 words) and a bibliography of 7 academic/scholarly/peer-reviewed sources for a research paper investigating the philosophical foundations of freedom of the press. This project focuses on the major philosophical, moral, and political principles supporting freedom of the press as a form of freedom of expression and, more specifically, as a form of freedom of speech. In doing so, this project aims at formulating an argument in favor of freedom of the press by calling attention to its inherent value, its scope and limits, and its benefits for the individual and the community. In the abstract, the student has to explain: the topic and its significance, her thesis and the contribution she plans to offer to the study of the selected subject, her intended approach to the selected topic and, thus, the way she plans to organize the paper – in other words, an outline of the planned paper. (This is a very important part of the abstract.) In the bibliography attached to the abstract, the student has to list the sources she intends to use, which need to be relevant to the subject. Please use Chicago/Turabian style for the bibliography. This assignment must be done by Thursday, July 9th, 3:00 PM (eastern)
