Avoid vague language. Do not start sentences with “this”, “it”, or “these”. Use specifics. Use formal writing and avoid rhetorical questions. Use active voice rather than passive voice (e.g., instead of “science was done by them” say “they did science”) In your conclusions, start by stating the major findings from your subtopics Pull the follow-up studies from the literature (typically the last few paragraphs of a paper).
