1) Do you think anything learned can be unlearned? This is a huge social debate. Internalization needs to be mentioned now. Internalization, in a nutshell, is when people learn something at such an early age that they are NOT even aware it was something that had to be taught to them. Think about this for example, is a boy/male born knowing that it is more socially acceptable for him to wear a blue shirt versus a pink shirt? Or, did he learn this social standard of dress at such an early age that he does NOT remember it being socialized to him, therefore he is “programmed” so to speak to dress that way? Discuss this topic using any example you see fit, you don’t have to use gender, that was simply my example. 2) Discuss why you think NOT all your agents of socialization have the same impact on you potentially. That is, why do you think you “listen” to one agent of socialization over another? Can this be problematic? Why or why not?
